Have you taken a look at your yard after our Canadian winters and wondered “wow what
a mess”! With spring right around the corner it is time to get ready for the big cleanup! After a
long winter when the grass, trees, and shrubs all go dormant they need a good cleaning to grow
back again. The first and most important part is to dethatch all turf areas with a hard rake to
break up clumps and remove any old clippings. The second beneficial factor for turf areas would
be to aerate the lawn to open it up so it can receive the proper nutrients it needs. Be sure to
clean up all twigs and leaves that were left from the fall to ensure nothing will impede the
growth!
